BIOGRAPHY
b. 1975, Mexico
Lui Ferreyra earned his BFA at the University of Colorado in Boulder, where he studied under noted artists Stan Brakhage, and Chuck Forsman. Before graduating, his work was included in several international group exhibitions in Mexico City and Santiago, Chile.
For the last ten years he has been exhibiting his work in some of Denver's most prominent art spaces. During this time he has arrived at a signature style he calls 'fragmentism'. Among other sources, he points to the work of Chuck Close, Egon Schiele, Van Gogh, Richard Diebenkorn, aerial perspectives, computer graphics, and organic patterns ( Li) as highly influential to his aesthetic.
Recent noteworthy accomplishments include a commission by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and an artist profile featured in the 66th issue of New American Paintings. His work can be viewed in person at Sandy Carson Gallery ( 760 Santa Fe Dr, Denver, CO).
